Jesus explains Kingdom of Heaven in Parables

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today's bible discussions are based on the Gospel of Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52.  In this scriptures, Jesus explains to the people how the Kingdom of heaven is like in several parables to make them understand well.

These parables include:
  • The Parable of mustard Seed (Matt13;31-32)
  • The Parable of the Yeast (Matt.13:33)
  • The Parable of the Hidden Treasure (Matt.13:44)
  • The Parable of the Pearl (Matt.13:45,46)
  • The Parable of the Net (Matt.13:47-50)
Jesus expressed how Kingdom of heaven is like in parables.
Jesus said, " Kingdom of heaven is like this:
  • a man takes a mustard seed and sows it in his field. it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it grows up, it is the biggest of all plants.(Matt13;31-32)
  • a woman takes some yeast and mixes with bushel of flour until the whole batch of dough rises.(Matt.13:33)
  • a man happen to find a hidden treasure in a field. He covers it up again, and is so happy that he goes sells everything he has, and goes back and buys that field.(Matt.13:44)
  • a man is looking for fine pearls, and when he find one that is unusually fine, he goes sells everything he has and buys that pearl.(Matt.13:45,46)
  • some fishermen throw their net out in the lake and catch all kinds of fish. When the net is full, they pull it to the shore and sit down to divide the fish; the good ones go into the buckets, the worthless ones are thrown away . It will be like this at the end of the age; the angels will go out and gather evil people from among the good and throw them into the fiery furnace, where they will cry and gnash their teeth." (Matt.13:47-50)
Few discussions can to centered around and connect these series of parables that Jesus taught the disciples and the people. The people who are belong to the Kingdom of heaven are like a seed planted by Son of man. How they grow is the work of the Holy Spirit and no one understands and see but it is by faith. How it expands or rises is the work of the Holy Spirit.

Kingdom of heaven is like a hidden treasure or like a precious pearl. In order to have or secure the hidden treasure  or the precious pearl, it will cause us everything. It will take our time, efforts and resources in order to secure the pearl or the hidden treasure. We have to sacrifice everything to secure the Kingdom of heaven with faith. When we continue to be in the counsel of the Lord and obey all his commandments and off course sacrifice everything to support church and ministries. When we do that all the time, we may never know but by the Grace of God and through the work of Holy Spirit we can be counted as the people who belong to  the Kingdom of Heaven.

So friends and love ones, God's word is plain clear that evil people will be gathered and thrown into the fiery furnace and they will cry and gnash their teeth. And people who belong to the Kingdom will be save by God's Grace.

So which group do you wish to be in? I want to be saved by the Grace of the Lord and be counted as someone belong to the Kingdom of Heaven.

May the Lord bless this words into your hearts now and forever.

 Amen!

The Parable of the Weeds

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The scripture reading for today is taken from the Gospel of Matthew 13:24 - 30. This scripture talks about the The Parable of the Weeds and in Matthew 13:36-43, Jesus explains the Parable of the weeds. Jesus told the people who were following him and listening to what he was preaching. Most of the words he spoke were in the form of parable.

Jesus told them this parable: " The Kingdom of Heaven is like this. A man sowed good seed in his field. One night, when everyone was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. When the plants grew and the heads of grain began to form, then the weeds showed up. The man's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, it was good seed you sowed in your field, where did the weeds come from?' 'It was some enemy who did this,' he answered. 'Do you want us to go and pull up the weeds?' They asked him. 'No,' he answered, 'because as you gather the weeds you might pull up some of the wheat along with them. Let the wheat and the weeds grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvest workers to pull up the weeds first, tie them in bundle and burn them, and then to gather in the wheat and put it in my barn.'" (Matthew 13:24-30)

Jesus then explains the parable of the weeds as follows:
  • Man who sowed seed is the Son of Man.
  • The Field is the world.
  • The Good Seed is the people who belong to the Kingdom.
  • The weeds are the people who belong to the evil one.
  • The enemy who sowed seed is the Devil.
  • The Harvest is the end of the age.
  • the harvest workers are angels.
Just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, si the same thing will happen at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels to gather up out of his Kingdom all those who cause people to sin and all others who do evil things, and they will throw them into the fiery furnace where they will cry and gnash their teeth.

Then God's people will shine like the Sun in their Father's Kingdom. Listen, then, if you have hears!

Discussion

Jesus explained the parable to his disciples what it meant. Now it is up to us to analyse ourselves whether we are in the category of Good Seed or we are in the category of weeds?

To be in the category of weeds is when those who cause other people to sin and do all other evil things. At the end of the age, they will be thrown into the fiery furnace.

Sin is always with us and we live with sin and we cannot eliminate sin but we try as much as possible to avoid doing sin or cause other people to sin and avoid doing evil things.

And to be in the category of the Good seed is to avoid causing other people to sin and do all evil things. Always do good things to help others in keeping their faith in Christ and do all the good things that Jesus loves.

By doing all good, you will be called God's children amongst other people at the end of the age and shine like the sun in God's glory for ever.

Amen.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples Before He is Taken Up to Heaven

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Today our bible discussions  are centered within the Book of Luke chapter 24 verses 44 to 53. In this scripture it talks about Jesus appears to his disciples after He rose from the death and he further comforted them with peace and reminded them to understand the scriptures in the Bible about the death and resurrection of Jesus  and the repentance and forgiveness of sins.

Jesus opened his disciples'  minds to understand the scriptures and said to them, " This is what is written: The Messiah must suffer and must rise from death three days later, and in his name the message about repentance and the forgiveness of sins must be preached to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things."(Luke 24:45-48)

Then Jesus led them out of the city as far as Bethany and blessed them. As he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up into Heaven. (Luke 24:50-51)

The disciples worshiped him and went back to Jerusalem, filled with great joy and spent all their time in the Temple giving thanks to God.

Discussion

Jesus told his disciples to be witnesses to his death and the resurrection and in his name the message about repentance and forgiveness of sins to be preached to all nations. He blessed them before he was taken up to Heaven. Before all these, Jesus already authorised them to do more things in the preaching of the Good News amongst many other tasks.

To be many witnesses of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to preach this Good News to all nations is the task Jesus gave it to his disciples. The Disciples were ordained and sent on a mission by Jesus Christ to preach the Good News to all the nations. And because of this great work in preaching and spreading the Good News through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Good News is spread to all nations and we now continue to hear the word of God.

As Christians of today's day and age,  we also have a duty to perform. We are duty bound to preach the Good News to others. It is in fact not all will be Pastors to preach the Good News but we have to hear the word of God and have faith in the word of God and participate in the church activities and support both in prayer and cash or kind so that the Good News of Jesus Christ is preached to the both the reached and unreached and maintain the Good News in the Church so that the next generations maintain the Good News of Jesus Christ and be witnesses themselves later as we do today.

Always remember that, we are on a mission to be witnesses and tell the others about the Good News of Jesus Christ until our life on earth is over then our work on earth is done and Jesus will give you eternal rest in Heaven which is a reward of your work done on earth. Only then, you will have eternal rest with Jesus in Heaven Forever.

Amen

Come to Me and Rest

Shalom brethrens, our discussion today is based on Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30. In this discussion we look at some message Jesus delivered to people after warning some cities who hear the word of God and do no believe will have no mercy during judgment day.

At that time Jesus said, "Father, Lord of Heaven and earth! I thank you because you have shown to the unlearned what you have hidden from the wise and learned."

"My Father has given me all things. No one knows that Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those whom the Son chooses to reveal him. (Matt.11:27)

" Come to me, all of you are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. (Matt.11:28)
"Take my yoke (Cloth) and put it on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy and the load I will put on you is light." (Matt . 11:19-30)

Discussion

Jesus chose us and reveals himself to us in his word. He wants to give us rest from carrying heavy loads.
What are the heavy loads?  It refers to troubles, worries and difficult situations that we go through in life while serving the Lord. Jesus said, you carry the loads to me  and I will give you rest.

Jesus said, take my Yoke (Cloth) and put it on and learn from me. If we are put on Jesus' yoke and learn from him then we have to do what Jesus taught us to do.

We may go through difficult times or facing troubles but we must keep praising and serving God and follow Jesus with a prayerful life and He will give us everlasting rest  which is a reward for the endurance of surviving in faith during trying times.

When Jesus calls your name and give you his yoke and put a light load on you, that will be your reward filled with great joy and that is the eternal rest in Heaven forever.

Amen.
